So Soren has turned out to be much more of a singer than a talker (isn't there a song about singing before you could talk. Abba! Yes. Well.) So Soren gets a lot of songs from music we play in the house and Kindermusik class, but especially his sisters. It's been awhile since they've both belted "Tomorrow" from Annie, but we were in Walmart a couple of days ago and suddenly Soren starts singing the tune. The words, well, it was more like "Ooh wawa, ooh wawa, I yaya, ooh wawa." But perfectly on pitch. And loud. We got a lot of surprised and delighted stares. It's a trick to get him to do it while I film him, so this is the best I could do....

Red Light Green Light
We had a little "red light, green light" game today after Isabelle and I were comparing what we each did in Kindergarten. I distinctly remember playing it outside our classroom, and Isabelle declares it one of her favorite recess activities. So 30 years and thousands of miles from my beginnings, it's lives on :-) Cora and Soren caught on pretty well too. You might not be able to hear him, but Soren is trying to say "red light."

Easter
We had a lovely Easter yesterday. The day started out with a bit of rain on our way to church, and by the time services were over, it was a torrential downpour! That was about 11:30am, but by the time we left for Huntsville a few hours later, the sky was completely clear, the sun bright, the day perfect! As we were driving up I couldn't help but make a comparison of the weather to the day we were celebrating. Just as the death of Christ was as the despair of the skies upon us, in 3 short days (as represented by hours yesterday), the Son was resurrected, a glorious renewal, a promise of hope for our own rebirth of spirit and resurrection to come.
In Huntville we had a nice family dinner and a "cousin egg hunt."

Soren was pretty thrilled with himself for getting this blue egg and didn't let go of it for a long time.

Spring babies
Here are my Spring babies. We took these pictures in front of their grandparents house in Huntsville. It's so hard to get all three looking at the camera, well okay mostly it's hard to get Soren to stand still EVER. But he is 15 months and is always on the run. Literally. Like, if you let him down anywhere outside, the first place he will go is straight to the road. He knows it's bad, so that's where he's headed. Sigh. He is talking-mostly babble-and singing a lot. He can say, "bye bye," "Cora," "up-e-da" (up we go), "go go go!" (when he's kicking, yes kicking, or chasing a ball), "na!" (no). I think that's it so far. But he can sing "Baa baa black sheep," "boom bang" (as shown in a recent video post), the chorus to "Angels We have Heard on High," and lately he's been trying to sing the alphabet with Cora. Of course probably only I can tell what he's singing, but he IS singing those specific songs and probably more that I can't recognize yet. It's great fun!
